Nature spell lists gets some great buffs, but most of them are available to divine and arcane casters so you aren't missing much. And quite frankly, nature magic tends to suck until the higher levels and then it's absolutely godly, but it's hard to justify keeping her in the party until Act 3 or 4 when it starts to really shine. Using her to cast nature magic can be useful sure, but then she can't spend the round using hexes. But having her in the party just for 1 or 2 hexes feels like a waste of a party member slot. Some of the hexes are crazy good, like Protective Luck or Evil Eye. This is what I usually relegate her to doing. She has the lowest overall melee damage in the game from the various companions that can do it. But as a tank she can't cast her nature magic if she's in the thick of combat, and her offensive melee damage is terrible as you have to use finesse weapons but don't get the dex-to-damage bonus that Rogue's do with it, nor does she get sneak attack. But she can only use bucklers initially so you need to spend a feat on Shield Proficiency. She can tank if you give her Iceplant and the ring for +4 AC total. I've all but given up on Camelia simply because her potentials builds are all mediocre. I really wanted to be Chaotic Evil and go down the path of the Demon with this class, but it seems the best I can do is Neutral Evil. But it's not stated in the class description anywhere in the game. You have to have Neutral somewhere in your alignment. Lastly here's the kicker which is really urking me - the class seems to have a hidden mechanic restricting your alignment just like a Druid. So you can roll with Simple Weapons or spend a feat to get Martial Weapons. I like the claws ability, but really only the Demonflesh subclass really thrives with them as their claws rip through DR on Outsiders, which is pretty much every demon in the game.

It just feels broken like some of these abilities work against the class itself. I took Spider as my first aspect for the AC bonus, and it's just not working well.Īlso being able to wear heavy armor and use a shield but then your level 2 ability which gives you Wis to AC gets' completely nullified when doing so. But the toolset you get just feels like garbage. You are basically stuck being an offensive warrior, which is fine. It also seems to turn off the second you hit the button again instead of waiting for the 1 minute timer to run out like other abilities do.īut overall, the mechanics just feel meh. You have to toggle the Aspect, it doesn't let you automatically toggle it when entering combat like you can with Rage and some other abilities. Gotten to the end of Act 1 as the basic Shifter class and it's just.tedious.

  • If you are toward the end of act III (Before you set sail) and have run out of quests to follow, you can rest for the maximum at the nexus, and the event will still trigger after the rest.I've been trying really hard to like the Shifter class.but I'm really not enjoying it.
